I've been wasting time trying to come up with something to do. Figured I should just sit down and do it. Found some pics of people online just for portrait practice. This is alright considering it's been quite a while since I last took a stab at a portrait. The sketch was fun. Ball point pen- not my usual tool of choice but my kids seem to have run off with all my pencils. Then I put it in photoshop and played with value. I am finding that whole process enjoyable which is good as I sometimes find myself bored with work. That's all for now. Thanks for coming by. Tell me what you think.
JUST SOME DUDE
Update:
Realizing this could be fun I started playing in photoshop with different expressions. Then I thought, 'Hey, this could be a fun thing for the IF topic: MULTIPLE.' So here you go: multiple expressions. It's a lot of fun- I may keep going all week long.

Why has it been so long?
So for Christmas we got our kids a dog. I guess it turns out we kind of got me a dog. We call her NACHO(as in, "Hey! That's Nacho Doggie!"-not your doggie). She's a boxer. She is almost 4 months old now. I realize these are not drawings or art really. But I wanted to show what I've been doing with my free time where I haven't been able to draw much. So here it is. Also on the day we got her, my wife told me she is with child, our 5th. She's been quite sick and so when I'm not working, or taking care of "my kid's" dog, I've been doing laundry, cleaning house, dishes etc. She's feeling better now so hopefully free times right around the corner.
Wow! Has it really been that long?
These are something I did for a play some folks at the church were putting on. I wish I had more time to put into it but they had a limited budget and I didn't have a ton of extra time to put into it for free, but I think it turned out pretty good. The color one ended up about 11x17 with date/time info in the big empty space in the bottom left corner. The B/W image was for a program just 8x5. They didn't need the info so I added the dress. I was going for the Drew Struzan movie poster look. Obviously not even close to the quality and detail he puts into it. I even borrowed his composition a little bit from his Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom poster.
